An Interns Perspective.
Today is one of the most exciting days of my life. I say this because today I get a taste of the real world and start my journey as an intern for this wonderful company. One minute you’re starting college and working so hard toward your future, then suddenly it is no longer your future, it’s your present. Every assignment, test, all-night study session for the past 2-4 years has lead to this moment.
That realization can be a little frightening if you let it be. For me, it is about trusting my self, my abilities and my character. Knowing that finally my work has paid off and I am beginning a new chapter in my life is a very rewarding and proud moment for me. I have been given the opportunity to apply my knowledge, learn from, and contribute to a wonderful company that has inspired and helped so many, within this community and all over the province.
On Saturday, I was able to accompany a couple of the ladies to a TEDx Talk at Sinclair Highschool. For those who are not familiar with what a TEDx Talk is, it is an independently organized conference for guest speakers to communicate with local communities and talk about ideas worth spreading. It was a wonderful and eye-opening experience that I would recommend to anyone who has the opportunity to attend one.
Over the next six weeks, I will continue to have more amazing experiences, and have the pleasure of working closely with some wonderful women who exemplify hard work, dedication, and a passion for what they do. I am very fortunate to gain more insight into the world of advertising, marketing, sales, social media, events, and so much more. My professional career is just beginning and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you all along the way.
